In 1985 the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen awarded Kathleen Liddle juried status in the
fiber category. She has served as president of the Schuylkill County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen and is
currently a member of the Reading Berks Chapter. She was honored as craftsmen of the month for January 2008 at the State Museum
in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. In July 2009 her handspun angora cardigan sweater was chosen for display at
the Reading Public Museum in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, Raw To Refined Exhibition. During her years
as a craftsperson she has enjoyed spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, quilting, and designing and sculpting original Santa
dolls.
She has taken numerous fiber
workshops and has done extensive study in the art of sculpting. In addition she has taught spinning, knitting, and the art
of casserole dyeing. For several years she taught weaving for Schuylkill Women in Crisis (SWIC) an organization
that helps victims of domestic violence. Kathleen has participated in the Reading/Berks and North Penn Craft Shows and the
Kutztown Folk Festival. Currently her work is displayed and available for sale at K.Ost Jewelry Studio
in Orwigsburg, PA as well as in the Fiber Art Originals store on the Etsy website. Kathleen enjoys working
with jeweler Kim Ost on projects such as hand-sculpted buttons and sterling silver scarf slides. She is
an award winning spinner and an avid gardener having received Master Gardener certification in 2001.
