Hi, I'm Kathleen Liddle

and I have been a juried member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen since 1985. I’ve exhibited and sold my work through guild shows, select stores, and by word of mouth. I was selected as the featured craftsman for the month of January 2008 at the State Museum in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

I’ve taught spinning, weaving, and knitting to many other fiber enthusiasts and worked to teach weaving to women that were victims of domestic violence. I love sharing what I’ve learned over the years through workshops and by one-on-one contacts. Using color and texture in my art-to-wear designs is my specialty. All of my designs are one of a kind. I enjoy dyeing my own handspun and commercial yarns to make each and every skein and finished item extra special. I love working with all types of fiber including mohair, wools, silks, bamboo, alpaca, organic cotton, and angora from my bunny Lilly. The photo of Lilly on my banner was taken by Kathy at Celtic Sunrise. You can see Kathy's work at www.celticsunrise.com.

I've been creating since I was a child. I was fortunate enough to have a mother and grandmother that were very talented. I grew up sewing my own clothes, creating knitted items and crafting all sorts of things. My grandfather gave me an antique spinning wheel and that began a brand new journey for me. I took a spinning lesson and joined a fiber guild and have never looked back. My two sons and husband traveled to craft shows and supported me as I began participating in sheep to shawl demonstrations and competitions. I've raised angora rabbits and spun their wonderful fiber into my hand spun yarns. I started dyeing my own yarns before it became fashionable because I yearned for colors I wasn't finding readily available. I find great joy in designing a project from fleece to a finished knitted or woven item.

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I love creating it. If I can answer any questions regarding my work, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Thanks for stopping by and please come again.
